How To Have A Stress-Free Semester

Move-in day is right around the corner and I’m more excited than ever. I can go on and on about why I’m so anxious to return back to campus. I also realize the joy and excitement I feel right now is going to disappear after the first two weeks, because before I know it, I’m going to be studying for quizzes, exams and dealing with all the other stressful things that come along with college.
Thankfully, I have composed a list of things I will be doing to deescalate that stress. Feel free to take notes.
Get organized
I say this pertaining to more than one aspect: living space and time management. Keep your living space organized, by taking care of the clutter in your dorm or apartment because it will make your life seem less hectic. Organize your priorities and make sure your time is being managed well.
Spend time with your friends
Go out. Take a break from the books. Spend time with the people you enjoy being around and just take a step back and relax. See #3.
Do Your Homework Early
Completing assignments before hand is always a good idea especially if you plan on going out. If you have the free time, definitely knock out a few assignments instead of procrastinating. Doing your assignments early and writing down questions for your professors can also help you be more prepared for your classes in case you are struggling.
Treat yourself
It’s important to reward yourself every now and then. Go get your nails done, go on a mini shopping spree, or go out with your friends. Just don’t over-do it because you don’t want to go broke by treating yourself.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP
I cannot stress this enough. I would always remind my friends the importance of sleep because apparently college students don’t believe in it. Your body needs sleep to function properly. You will definitely feel stressed out if you’re not getting enough sleep. Average hours to sleep are between 6 and 8 hours, so do yourself a favor and sleep.
