Fashion Haul of the Week

I’m back and I’m better with another Fashion Haul!
I decided to treat myself to some retail therapy a few days after my birthday, and even though I didn’t make it to all of my favorite stores, I managed to catch an awesome sale at Gap and Forever 21.

It’s about that time for new arrivals in most retail stores, so pop into the stores that say they’re taking an extra percentage off of already marked down items. I ventured into Gap because they had a sign offering 40% off sale items.
I purchased this linen button down top in a vibrant coral color for $8.98 (after markdown) . This is definitely a shirt you can pair with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans or even some light-washed jean shorts. Not only did I love this color, but I’m slightly obsessed with “frockets”; that’s front pocket for those that don’t know

I also copped this simply sophisticated boat neck top for $13.77 (after markdown). It appears to be black, but its actually navy. This is definitely the type of top you could wear on a date. Pair it with white jeans and strappy sandals. Navy and white are usually associated with a nautical theme, so if you’re going for this look, don’t forget your gold jewelry and red lipstick!

Once I left Gap for Forever 21, I was on the lookout for their infamous “Deal of the Week” usually displayed at the front of the store. I wasn’t a fan of it this week, so I opted to search the nooks and crannies of the store because that’s usually where I can find a hidden gem.

I’m low-key a huge fan of the color yellow when I’m not wearing my usual neutral color palette of black, gray, or a nude-ish color. I purchased this baby-doll dress in this mustard-olive color for $19.90 because I love the way it complemented my brown skin. This top emphasizes your shoulders really well and can easily be worn bra-less for those that want to “free the nipple” this summer.
Wear this with a jean jacket to give it a more casual vibe or pair it with a heeled sandal and wear it to a party or quaint gathering.
I bought another spaghetti strapped sweater top for $14.90 but this one is striped and colorful! I always get 90s vibes when I wear these tops for some reason, so if you’re up to trying that sort of look, pair this top with a high-waist pair of “mom” jeans. If you’re going for something more relaxed, pair this top with wide-leg linen pants.

The last item I purchased from Forever 21 was a pair of woven shorts in this olive-green color for $12.90. I decided to buy a pair of shorts because I realized I only own one pair of shorts (smh). The material of these shorts is 100% rayon, which is lightweight and practically see-through. Shorts like these are perfect for the heat during the day paired with tank top and sandals. If you want to take a trip to the pool, use these shorts as a cover up for your bathing suit.

I hope this haul gave you some great inspiration for your summer fits! I’m anticipating an even BIGGER fashion haul for the month of August in preparation for back-to-school festivities so be on the look out!
