August Fashion: Are You Ready for School?

It’s almost time to go back to school and now is the time to get ready to strut your stuff through campus! Technically, it’s still summer time and some colleges are in cities that will most likely be really hot up until about mid-October (like my school) or may cool off around September. Either way, you don’t want to miss out on dressing to INSPIRE others as a fashion icon. Here are a few looks I put together for you to to be an inspiration on your campus:

As the weather begins to shift here’s some ideas for the weather going from hot to cold:

There’s been a few new trends to pop up in the month of August, and they’re pretty exciting to me. Some people might question the uniqueness of these new trends, but they’re definitely worth a try! Here they are listed below:

  • Statement bomber jackets

  • Plunging necklines

  • Kitten heels

  • Heeled booties

  • Choker necklaces

My favorite trend is the statement bomber jacket so far. I would pair one with a pair of distressed skinny or boyfriend-like jeans with a pair of heeled booties or maybe even a cool pair of Dr. Marten boots. Here’s an idea:

The kitten heel has been so controversial for years, andI believe I understand why. Sometimes we might associate the kitten heel with women who are 65+ but they can actually be pretty chic! LOL. The kitten heel can be worn with a nice midi skirt, or even a sophisticated A-line dress. Don’t sleep on these shoes, get hip!

I hope this post has inspired you for your back-to-school fashion necessities. Make sure to remain ‘swaggy’ on campus. You never know who’s looking!
